THE CONFERENCE VENUE
The EAEEIE 2026 Conference will take place between the 3rd and the 5th June 2026 in the notorious Hotel & Casino “Cherno more”, which is located on bul. “Slivnitsa” 33, PO9000 in Varna, Bulgaria.
Hotel & Casino “Cherno more” takes advantage of its unique location – both in the heart of the city and only meters away from the beach and the sea. The hotel is superbly located on the main pedestrian promenade with many sightseeing and entertainment possibility nearby, including landmarks and museums, galleries, shops, pubs, clubs and the famous Varna Sea Garden.
One of the tallest and most emblematic buildings of Varna, Hotel and Casino “Cherno More”, which translates to “Black Sea” from Bulgarian language, has celebrated its 45 years in 2023.
The building was designed by arch. Simeon Dimitrov and was opened on the 24th May 1978. The hotel was a large-scale and ambitious project for its time. Located on the pedestrian promenade in the ideal Centre of Varna, the hotel has always been closely connected with the cultural life of the city, in its role as a main partner and place of accommodation for major events – festivals, music events, conferences and seminars. THE CITY OF VARNA
Varna is the third-largest city in Bulgaria and the largest city and seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast and in the Northern Bulgaria region. Situated strategically in the Gulf of Varna, the city has been a major economic, social and cultural centre for almost three millennia. Historically known as Odessos, Varna developed from a Thracian seaside settlement into a major seaport on the Black Sea.
Varna is an important centre for business, transportation, education, tourism, entertainment, and healthcare. The city is referred to as the maritime capital of Bulgaria and has the headquarters of the Bulgarian Navy and merchant marine. In 2008, Varna was designated as the seat of the Black Sea Euroregion by the Council of Europe. In 2014, Varna was awarded the title of European Youth Capital.
The city landmarks include the Varna Archaeological Museum, exhibiting the golden treasures of Varna, the Roman Baths, the Battle of Varna Park Museum, the Naval Museum in the Italianate Villa Assareto, which is displaying the museum ship and former torpedo boat “Drazki”, the Museum of Ethnography in an Ottoman-period compound, which is featuring the life of local urban dwellers, fisherfolk, and peasants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The ‘Sea Garden’ of Varna is the oldest and perhaps largest park in the town that contains an open-air theatre, the Varna Aquarium, which was opened in 1932, the Festa Dolphinarium, which was opened in 1984, the Nicolaus Copernicus Observatory and Planetarium, the Museum of Natural History, a terrarium, a zoo, an alpineum, a children’s amusement park with a pond, boathouse and ice-skating rink, as well as other attractions.
ENTERING BULGARIA
Prior to your journey, please pay attention that since 1 January 2007, the Republic of Bulgaria is part of the European Union (EU) and is implementing the Common Visa Policy of the EU.
According to the EU Council Decision 2024/210 of 30 December 2023 on the full application of the provisions of the Schengen acquis in the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania, as of 31 March 2024, the Republic of Bulgaria is part of the Schengen area by initially abolishing checks on persons at internal air and sea borders. According to EU Council Decision 2024/210 of 12 December 2024 setting the date for the lifting of checks on persons at internal land borders with and between the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania, as of 1 January 2025, the checks on persons at internal land borders have been lifted.

Bucharest International Airport is located approx. 300 km away from Varna. The airport, named Henri Coanda International Airport, is located in Otopeni, 16.5 km north of the Bucharest city centre. The airport supports flights from more than 30 companies and is the best solution to reach Varna by airplane.
